Garry L. Taylor Knoxville
TN , USA
I began painting again in July of 1998 after being inspired by my first trip to Paris. While there I felt a connection to my favorite group of painters, The Impressionists, and had a very strong desire to paint what I was feeling and seeing. So I went to an art store, bought supplies and headed to Le Jardin du Luxembourg. Which became my routine for every free afternoon in Paris. I also had the opportunity to visit Giverny and took a great many photographs to use as reference material after I returned to Tennessee. It is the body of work the evolved out of that trip that I am submitting here. Today I divide my energies between lampworking and pastel painting. I see my work growing in both areas and am excited by and committed to this process.
