David Gallup Thousand Oaks
CA , U.S.A.
20 years as a plein air painter, mainly influenced by the "Giverny-ites", the American
Impressionists who followed Monet to Giverney, France.
Other main influences include California Impressionists such as Xavier Martinez, Alson Skinner
Clarke, John Singer Sargent, Guy Rose, and the so-called "Eucalyptus School" of Laguna Beach and
Carmel.
I have a BFA from Otis/Parsons in Illustration, and have also studied in San Francisco at the Acadamy
of Art and with Mission Renaissance, where I studied and taught Classical and Impressionist
Techniques for 3 years.
Now, I sell my work through galleries, word of mouth, and often on location wherever I am painting.
